About Us
As Directors, we welcome any opportunity to engage proactively with local organisations on waste management issues. Since the founding of the company in 1982, we have endeavoured to continually improve access to waste management best practice within the region, and are committed to service. We have embraced the changes in legislation that have directed waste away from landfill and towards more sustainable forms of recycling and disposal. Our investment in facilities has been with the fundamental belief that alternatives to landfill are commendable, and technology can lead the way to the future. Fletcher Metals and Waste Recycling have always been happy to form business relationships with similarly minded and trusted suppliers. The world of waste is intricate, and everyone has their specialist strengths.
We believe our proposals are innovative and we can build a true working partnership between the suppliers and you as clients. Fletchers Metals and Waste Recycling Ltd was founded in 1982 by Richard Fletcher, and has subsequently grown to be a major independent presence in the South Yorkshire and Derbyshire regions. The company adopted a philosophy that landfill was unsustainable and grew by realising that recycling, coupled with a great service, would be the critical factors for waste producers as time progressed.
Today the company is a significant local employer and has consolidated its presence by diversifying into specialist recycling activities such as vehicle de-pollution and wheelie bin collections. This growth is expected to continue, with a variety of additional recycling techniques being considered for its two major licensed operating centres in Sheffield and Chesterfield. Operating to British Standards ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, our services are carried out to a high quality and are environmentally friendly.

The Company guarantees on-site assistance within twenty-four hours of notification.
With central locations in both Sheffield and Chesterfield, our Clement Works, at the Sheffield site, acts as the group’s Head Office.
We operate under two of the most comprehensive site licenses issued and these allow us to deal in all manner of metal and waste recycling, including hazardous wastes like Asbestos and WEEE. Our comprehensive storage and treatment facilities allow us to manage all types of waste and metals in order to maximise their re-use, recycling and waste to energy capabilities. Our location is ideally suited for collections throughout the Yorkshire, Derbyshire and North Nottinghamshire areas. The site can accept both large and small deliveries of metals and waste and operates full weighbridge facilities. Should clients or partners require a facility to allow their own vehicles to deliver small loads of waste then a dedicated area of the site would be allocated for your employees’ protection on the busy waste management facility.
The site has segregated storage and processing capabilities for permitted wastes, including hazardous chemical wastes. Our company has no direct interest in either Landfill or Incineration, these tend to be expensive options for us, and this underlines our commitment to use any initiatives which allow us to recycle to the maximum. Mixed materials are segregated to maximise its recycling potential via mechanical and physical screening and separation.
These systems enable the site to enjoy a high recycling rate of an average 88/96% of material input to the site.
